Season 2, I saw about 3 episodes of season 1, went on hols for 2 weeks came back and polar bears were running around on a desert island.

Never a dull moment on that island.

Between past, present, and future sometimes I don't know which way is up or down.

I'm starting to have serious doubts whether the writers do actually have a credible story arc from first season to this final season - so many things are now becoming shit that I am on the verge of not caring - here is an example:

Non crash Ben teaches Alex at his school - but on the island Alex is Bens daughter. So if Ben never went to the island (non crash Ben) then how does alex exist? Also non crash Ben did go to the island (according to the conversation he had with his father but left what we assume is some time previously to his non crash life) - so does that mean Alex is his daughter now in non crash ben's life? Didn't seem likely to me (unless I missed something so subtle!)

Miles says that "Claire is still hot though" to Kate when he says he has seen her - did Miles EVER see Claire as these were the original crash survivors and he came much later (and as far as I know never got to see claire).

What about Penny & Desmond where have they disappeared to?

We now have the original timeline gone (first plane crash) as all the survivors have been joined by a "second plane" crash. We also have an alternative time line which has been triggered by Juliette detonating the bomb in the 70's timeline (i.e. the non crash timeline we are seeing at the moment).

Where did the dog go?

Where did Michael go?

Where did Walt go (who was supposed to be so important to everything)?

Where did Jack's dead dad go? (Or is he the evil incarnate and has just taken on a different form in the shape of lock?) And if this IS the case why would he lead Jack to water and shelter when Jack first spotted him in season 1? Oh and why did Kate see a horse in season 1.

I feel your pain.

TBH I really haven't followed what's showing now only for some few bits in between.
I keep wondering if is repeats from the previous season/s.
It just all seems too much of a tangled web to follow.

Actually Boxy, I thought I was at last getting an idea about the whole story line from the beginning from this season's episodes.

boxy, alex was only bens daughter as he kidnapped her when she was young, she is not his boilogical daughter, we knew this from season 2 when Ethan and Ben kidnapped her.

Penny and Desmond are out of the story now, his part of it has been fullfilled, but pennys father was in the sub this week, so she may still be in it.

what I dont get is that Sun, Ben and the pilot were on a different timeline to jack , kate and the others, but now they are all on the same timeline, I dont remember the timelines merging ??

They've always been on the same present day timeline I thought. Its only the other 5 candidates that were living in different timelines

nope, sun saw a picture of jin, hurley, sawyer, jack from the 70`s in dharma gear, her the pilot and ben landed with the others in present day with lockes body.

sounds like a load of old bollocks to me.

My guess is, the nuclear explosion ripped the timeline apart and now everyone on the island is on the same timeframe just like their alternative counterparts.
